Sulfur Reduction Additive
Clear Technologies, LLC is an authorized distributor and leading provider of Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) media for the biogas industry. We are pleased to introduce a high-performance H₂S reduction powder called Micronox; an alternative sulfur reduction product to Ferric Chloride. Micronox is a listed product under the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) as an organic product. This H₂S sulfur reduction additive is being utilized at many Complete Mix Anaerobic Digesters in the U.S. and is widely used in Europe. Micronox is a mixture of naturally mined iron oxides-hydroxides and other functional oxides, which have been developed to be added directly to complete mix style of digester(s). Micronox will internally reduce the H₂S to sulfur, allowing the sulfur to exit the digester in the digestate. The sulfur reduction additive is very efficient at reducing the effluent H₂S in the biogas by ~75%, resulting in competitive H₂S removal costs. This product has been the object of extensive preliminary studies with successful application in biogas plants.
Micronox does not require any special storage or specific training to be handled and utilized since the powder is a natural substance classified as non-hazardous. It is packaged in 44/lb fermentable paper bags, which can be added directly to the process without opening the bags, and is also available in 2,200 lb super sacks.
