Dosage Calculation
Micronox is an OMRI Certified proven product that is being successfully used in many complete mix digester applications. Since every digester is unique, Clear Technologies will calculate your estimated dosage based on actual site information. The key factors for the product to be effective is proper mixing and a minimum retention time of 10-15 days. Proper mixing is essential for the product to be effective as it is a surface reaction between a solid and liquid gas – Reaction works well in both dry and humid conditions.
In addition, the reaction Kinetics (reaction rate) depends on the Micronox / H2S concentration and digester temperature. In order to increase the reaction rate, we recommend adding a double dose for the first week. This also provides a buffer effect, so if there is an H2S peak there will be an excess of Micronox ON16 ready to react. The minimum substrate information required from the customer is (type, tons/day, density), biogas daily volume (m3/day) and initial & target H2S concentration (ppm).
Once the estimated dosage is calculated, the end user will then select the proper packaging for usage. Micronox does not require any special storage or specific training to be handled and utilized since the powder is a natural substance classified as non-hazardous. It is packaged in 44/lb fermentable paper bags, which can be added directly to the process without opening the bags, and is also available in 2,200/lb super sacks.
